Former Pine Beach Elementary PTO President charged with Theft
The former president of the Pine Beach Elementary PTO has been arrested for theft after allegedly misappropriating over $14,000.00 while in that position, announced Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer.
Jennifer Maguire, 48, of Beachwood was arrested on Tuesday and charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking, in violation of N.J.S.A.2C:20-3A, 3rd Degree.
Maguire served as president of the organization until May of 2018.
The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Economic Crime Unit conducted an investigation after they received information regarding Maguire’s handling of the Parent Teacher Organization finances.
Their investigation uncovered that Maguire made repeat cash withdrawals from the Pine Beach Elementary Parent Teacher Organization bank account that coincided with cash deposits into Maguire’s personal checking account.
Following her arrest, Maguire was processed and released on a summons.
