Drop by and pick up the seeds to plant your own trees!

The Howell Township Shade Tree Commission is still working to replenish trees lost during Superstorm Sandy, so they're holding their annual FREE Tree Seedling event this Saturday, June 6th, from 7:30 am - 12:30 pm.

It's all part of the NJ Forestry Tree Recovery Campaign.

Howell residents can just pull up to the DPW Garage and members of the Shade Tree Commission will bring you seedlings to choose from!

This is a first-come, first-serve event so get your seedlings while supplies last! And, of course, please respect social distancing and wear a face mask.

Seedlings you can choose from:

-- Bald Cypress

-- Carnelian Cherry

-- Mockernut Hickory

-- Northern Red Oak

-- Persimmon

This can serve as a wonderful project for you to share with your kids and to teach them that seedlings planted today will create forests for our future. To watch a tree that you and your child planted together grow through the years is a real treasure.

The Howell Township DPW Garage is located at 278 Old Tavern Road.
