Freehold, NJ man pulled over for car infractions found with loaded guns in Lakehurst, NJ
A Freehold man is in the Ocean County Jail after police in Lakehurst found him in possession of several weapons and a large stash of marijuana.
Lakehurst Police said they pulled over 30-year old Marvin D. Morris on Sunday morning around 12:30 am for several equipment violations involving his 2008 BMW Sedan.
Morris became uncooperative, police said, after officers spotted a switchblade-style knife on his lap.
When he finally got out of the BMW Sedan, police found Morris in possession of two loaded guns on his waistband -- a .38 caliber revolver and a .9mm pistol with hollow-point ammunition.
Police placed Morris under arrest and secured the guns, but as they searched the vehicle, they found an AR-15 Style rifle and Shotgun in the trunk as well as a large but undisclosed amount of marijuana and packaging material for distribution.
In addition, police said they also found nearly $1,200 in cash, which was seized pending civil forfeiture proceedings.
Morris was processed following his arrest at the Lakehurst Police Department and then brought to the Ocean County Jail pending a court appearance.
In all, Morris is charged with two Counts of Unlawful Possession of a Handgun, two Counts of Possession of a Handgun for an unlawful Purpose, Possession of a prohibited weapon (Switchblade), Unlawful Possession of a Knife, Possession of Hollow Point Ammunition, Possession of a weapon during a CDS Distribution Offense, Distribution of Marijuana over 1 oz, Possession of Marijuana over 6 oz, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
