Lord & Taylor announced Thursday that it would be closing all of their stores, including the Freehold location.

The company had announced that it would be closing as many as 24 stores, but a complete shutdown was a bit of a shock. It also sealed the fate of the Freehold Raceway Mall store.

Lord & Taylor hasn't announced an exact closing date, but a liquidation sale has already started, according to the company's website. In other words, get in on those deals!

Other New Jersey stores affected include Moorestown, Woodbridge, Livingston, Rockaway, Bridgewater, Lawrenceville, Westfield, and two in Paramus.

Lord & Taylor has quite a history. They've been around since the 1800s. But, as the Amazons and other online retailers have grown exponentially in the past decade, it's made it very difficult for brick-and-mortar retailers.

The list seems to keep on growing. JCPenney, Neiman Marcus, Sears, Brooks Brothers, New York & Company, Sur La Table, Pier 1 Imports, and Lucky Brand have all filed for bankruptcy and closed stores.
