Serving nearly 30,000 residents with an average of 560 emergency calls, Gordons Corner Fire Company launches its new recruitment website to help increase the amount of fire department volunteers.

The fire company serves the north side of Manalapan and the surrounding area and is 100% volunteer.

They're looking for those interested in getting involved and serving their local community.

If you're interested in volunteering or learning more about the fire company you can visit their new recruitment website, JoinGordonsCornerFire.org.

You can click on the “Join Us” page, fill out the form, and hit submit. You'll hear back from someone within a day.

"With the new recruitment website, we hope to communicate to the community the various ways in which you give back to the community as a Gordons Corner volunteer, and the countless benefits available to our members," said Gordons Corner Cheif Steven Burdick.

As a volunteer firefighter, you respond to calls ranging from structure fires to storm-related emergencies.

If you're interested in volunteering you have to be 18 years of age or older to be an active firefighter and between the ages of 16 and 18 to be a junior firefighter.

Gordons Corner 1st Lieutenant, Keith Obriwin said, “I have advanced my skills with continuing education and hands-on training. It is also a tremendous feeling giving back to the community and fellow neighbors in times of need."

No prior experience is required.
