When it comes to community colleges, Brookdale is not only one of the best in the area. It turns out it's among the best in the nation, according to a recent report.

The results were revealed by Academic Influence, which ranked the top 50 community colleges in the nation, and Monmouth County's Brookdale Community College was listed in the top half of those schools making the list.

As a matter of fat, Brookdale is ranked as the 24th best in the nation, according to the publication. That is great news for Monmouth County an even better news for all the students who call Brookdale their own.

One of the ways Academic Influence ranked the school was by using a method that would level the playing field between small, medium and large schools they call Concentrated Influence. Read about how Concentrated Influence works.

The site highlights Brookdale's influence in the fields of Communications, Criminal Justice, Medical and Business among others, and spotlights the fact that newsman Brian Williams, distance runner Ajee Wilson and sports announcer Jim Hunter are counted among their alumni.

Brookdale has a storied history in Monmouth County, having opened their doors in 1969 with 306 students and 54 faculty members, according to the Brookdale website.

Monmouth County's community college now has an enrollment of over 10,000 students and 68 academic programs. This is quite an honor for Brookdale Community College and a well deserved one!
