Here is a fantastic way to close out summer with concerts, food, and more in Ocean Gate, NJ
On a scale of 10, did you have an 11 worth of fun last year at the first annual 'Farewell to Summer' in Ocean Gate?
Get ready for round two!
Rich Bazzanella, the owner of Hot Rod Inkin in Ocean Gate who organized last summer's event, tells Townsquare Media that A Farewell To Summer II will take place on September 24 and it will be jam-packed with events, concerts, and more.
"Last year‘s event was spectacular, blessed with beautiful fall weather, and the great bands that kept the stage alive all day such as Crash Gordon and Debra Dynamite, local country heroes Bullzeye, the legendary kings of rockabilly, the Razorbacks, and we had Wilson finish the night last year," Bazzanella said.
There are going to be even more bands taking the stage at this year's event which Bazzanella hopes will build on the fun had and the accomplishments met this time last year.
"This year, we are excited to announce from Asbury Park, that we have the Eddie Testa band, doing the classics that we all know and love," Bazzenella said. "The Dancemaur company kept everybody entertained in between with dance lessons all day, and we even managed to raise some money for the Ocean Gate elementary school, and the children, through a lemonade stand, managed to raise almost $1,200 for the local church pantry."
You should start getting your design ideas ready and flowing as you'll need to step it up to win the scarecrow contest after a stellar display last year.
"There’s a scarecrow contest that brought out the town’s creativity with many awesome displays," Bazzenella said. "With a scarecrow contest sponsored by the Ocean Gate Market, dance contests, a corn hole tournament, live music all day long, and great food and beverages from local restaurants like the Anchor Inn and Linda’s Pizzeria and restaurant, not to mention some of our fantastic vendors who have something for everybody including dog lovers. A Farewell to Summer II promises to be a great day for all to have."
