Here’s Your Chance To Secure Your Boarding Pass to the Moon With NASA
I'd be a little uneasy about boarding a rocket that was built by someone without a lot of experience.
I'm looking at you Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos.
NASA, though, they are the experts - and they're ready to take you into space on a trip to the moon.
Whoops, one catch though. They're not going to take you, but they will take YOUR NAME!
In a pitch to get people interested and excited about their upcoming moon flight plans, NASA is offering the chance to take your name to the moon.
The rocket Artemis will be lifting off from Cape Canaveral in Florida on a flight to the moon, and they're including on the flight a flash drive, loaded with people's names. Once you fill in the information, you'll even get a nifty boarding pass as I did:
If my second-grade teacher were still alive, I'd shove that pass in her face and say, "SEE! I can accomplish something in my life!"
I don't know what I'm going to do with my pass - maybe Spirit Airlines will apply the miles to my Spirit account!
Actually, it might be a pretty cool thing to do with your kids or grandkids. A fun way to learn and space and such.
Signing up really took about 30 seconds, and other than my name I didn't have to input any more info, so it's probably not a phishing scam or anything like that. You can sign up here.
About Artemis, NASA says, "Artemis I will be the first uncrewed flight test of the Space Launch System rocket and the Orion spacecraft. The flight paves the way toward landing the first woman and the first person of color on the Moon!"
