Holiday shopping galor! Get your Christmas gifts at massive Made in Monmouth event
Made in Monmouth is an event that occurs now a couple of times a year as a way of showcasing businesses who set up within the community.
"The Made in Monmouth has been pretty much a signature here in Monmouth County and now that we've had such success with it, and the overall requests to see if we could potentially do it twice a year — because it becomes one of the bigger days for our small business climate to be able to showcase their products," Monmouth County Commissioner Director Tom Arnone said. "The only way you can be a participant is if you have, make, or manufacture something in Monmouth County."
So, with the Christmas shopping season underway, one place you should stop on by for stocking stuffers and gifts is the upcoming Holiday Made in Monmouth event.
Mark it down in your phone or tablet now to head over to Brookdale Community College in the Robert J. Collins Arena on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. where more than 200 Monmouth County small business vendors will be on site.
"It's amazing, amazing how many talented and creative small businesses that we have here that are strictly, basically right from Monmouth County and do everything right here in the county," Arnone said.
Director Arnone adds that there will be all kinds of items to buy, take a look at, or eat, "such as jewelry, art, food and drink, accessories, home decor."
In addition to all these gifts and goods, there's even more to look forward to at this version of the Made in Monmouth event.
"We'll be talking a little bit about some of the holiday things, our tree farms and agriculture departments where you can go and get some Christmas trees and all kinds of holiday specials," Arnone said.
There's more, so, as you do some Christmas shopping, you can also do some shopping for spirits.
"We'll probably have a few other tables that will basically be dedicated to our Distilled and Brewed in Monmouth," Arnone said. "We'll have distilleries and some sort of wineries to promote and showcase their business so people can know that we have a very high volume of distilleries and breweries — the most in the state of New Jersey, actually — we have 33 of them."
It's events like this Holiday Made in Monmouth that you find all kinds of things from stocking stuffers and small gifts to a big gift you want to give someone.
"Having it over the course of the years that we've had it — now people are just going back because they know that they can get these products there," Arnone said.
It's a great — and free — event for consumers (and businesses) but it's a great way for these businesses to bring in some revenue to close out the year and an opportunity for you to shop local and support these businesses in Monmouth County.
"At the end of the day, these are all mom-and-pop stores, all small businesses — some out of their home and some in just some small tight quarters where they don't have the ability to market or have the ability in some way or another to get in front of a large audience," Arnone said.
