A new study has revealed which states are the fittest and which are the least fit. How did New Jersey do?
Is New Jersey A Fit State?
This is the time of year when New Jersey residents need to be "beach ready". So, how many Garden State residents are fit and ready for summer?
For many state residents, it's a battle that started months ago; for others, it's a 12-month-a-year commitment.
It's not easy to keep to a New Jersey schedule and find time to work out, so we wondered how New Jersey would rank in the category of fitness.

The bad news is we don't rank anywhere near the top of the list for most fit states. The top state in America for fitness is New Hampshire, followed by Massachusetts and Washington.
According to LookMeds, New Jersey is the 23rd most fit state in the country, with some alarming stats to accompany that ranking.
New Jersey Ranks 23rd For Fitness
In New Jersey, only 31.3% of adults exercise, but that is not the most alarming statistic in the study.

When it comes to kids, only 16.8% are physically active in the Garden State. And our high blood pressure statistics are elevated as well.
In New Jersey, just over a third of the population has high blood pressure, which may seem low if you live here, but it ranks in the middle of the pack in the nation.
We're going to have to find time to get in better shape in New Jersey. Our lives may depend on it.
