America's Got Talent is adding a controversial new judge to the panel when the new season launches in the summer of 2012...none other than radio legend Howard Stern.

Stern will replace Piers Morgan at the Judges' Table, who is leaving the show to focus on his CNN talk show.

According to Reuters, production of the show will move to New York so that Stern can continue his radio work on SiriusXM.

While this move is certain to bring a lot of publicity to the show, will it bring ratings? America's Got Talent's target audience is families...and Howard Stern is anything but family friendly. He's notorious for sexually-charged interviews, outrageous behavior, and pushing boundaries...but he's also known for being extraordinarily honest.

Maybe he will be what the show needs...I'm intrigued enough to check it out, are you?
