I'm hoping we can come together as a community to help twelve unfortunate souls from Howell who will have nowhere to go very soon.

The land that Howell had sanctioned for a camp for the homeless has been sold and soon they will have nowhere to go.

According to a GoFundMe post, the prospective buyer of the land has offered residents of the camp a total of $1,000. That's for everyone, and hardly enough.

Cheryl Copp-Ins started a GoFundMe page in the hopes of raising $25,000 for residents of the Howell Camp.

Cheryl made an excellent point. $1,000 PER PERSON would get each of the twelve two weeks in a hotel if they're lucky. However, $25,000 would provide these people with housing for a year. That would give them the necessary amount of time to get their feet on the ground.

If we each donate a little, it could go a long way. And if you're wondering why these people are homeless, don't. They are people. They deserve dignity. Can you imagine if that was us, or one of our loved ones?

If you're interested in learning more or making a donation, please visit the GoFundMe page that has been set up for them.
