I Can’t Believe What I DIDN’T See While Grocery Shopping in Ocean County, NJ
I went grocery shopping this weekend and I couldn't believe it.
Deja vu all over again with the shelves empty. What was it before, toilet paper? Lysol and Clorox Wipes. Now, there's more than enough of that stuff and the cleaning products, but what about everything else?
I went into a ShopRite and Target this past weekend looking for chicken and guess what, no chicken. I did a little research on why the shelves were so empty. Everyday things we use, and nothing was available. I was thinking was it the time I went in. Doubt it, it was around 3:00 pm on a Sunday afternoon, how can they be empty? I never ran into this before, besides the toilet paper aisle and cleaning products at the beginning of the pandemic. Unless you bought in bulk, you basically ran out of toilet paper.
This time, from what I'm reading there are two reasons for the shortage of our favorite things, according to bloomburg.com. From the start of omicron, people began to panic, once again and factory and port closures caused the back-up of many supplies.
It's totally crazy, I was in search of cream cheese for a while now and it's always out...cream cheese is on the list of things missing from shelves. Who knew? I wasn't going crazy because I couldn't find cream cheese and throw in the whipped and I never can find that any more.
According to bloomburg.com, here are the top 5 grocery products missing from the shelves right now all over the country - baking supplies, cocoa mixings/milk flavoring, cream cheese, sports drinks, and juice boxes. It's crazy, the list also includes - cookies, salty snacks, and pasta.
What are you having trouble finding in your grocery store?
