Beloved 119-Year-Old NJ Amusement Park Closing for Good
A real piece of New Jersey history is coming to an end, unless something big happens, and sadly, it's something we're starting to see more and more in New Jersey.
Closures. We see them day in and day out, from local mom-and-pop restaurants to some major chains; closures are something we've been dealing with a lot across the Garden State lately.
New Jersey Amusement Parks Are Being Hit With Tough Times
Even Jersey amusement parks aren't immune to the closure epidemic. Two summers ago, we learned that Gillians Wonderland Pier in Ocean City would be closing its doors. It was a devastating blow. I grew up going to that Wonderland Pier, and some of my fondest family memories I have were at that pier.
Now, we've learned that another NJ amusement park, with over one century of history in the Garden State, is closing its doors at the end of the 2026 season, and people are devastated.
Clementon Park In Camden County, NJ Set To Permanently Close
According to a post on social media, Camden County's historic Clementon Park and Splash World will close its doors for good at the end of the 2026 season.
The outcry of support and sharing of fond memories in the comment section is frankly overwhelming.
Clementon Park Is Currently Looking For A New Owner/Buyer
There is some hope, though: Clementon Park and Splash World are actively looking for a buyer to keep operations going. It wouldn't be the first time the park has changed hands and ownership.
And you'd think with how popular this amusement park is, that with the right owner, not only could you keep this piece of NJ history alive, but you'd be able to make it lucrative too.
