People Are Fleeing NJ For Chattanooga, And Why I’d Never Follow
Would you ever leave New Jersey? And not for a weekend getaway, but like, for good. Would you trade the seasons, the beaches, the amazing food, and all the natural beauty that New Jersey has to offer for a lower cost of living?
A lot of people in Jersey are doing just that, and where people from New Jersey are fleeing to may surprise you.

Why Are More People Leaving New Jersey Than Ever Before?
It's no surprise that Jersey can be a hard state to call home. And not because there isn't a ton to do here, or that the state doesn't have anything to offer residents, but we're simply being outpriced. Whether it's property tax, utility bills, or income tax, it's expensive to call Jersey home.
So, a lot of people are deciding to say goodbye to New Jersey and start their life over somewhere much more affordable.
Where Are People Who Are Leaving NJ Moving?
According to NJ.com, a mass exodus of people from New Jersey, as well as even New York, is ending up in Tennessee.
Specifically, Chattanooga, the fourth-largest city in the Volunteer State.
Why Are People From NJ Moving To Tennessee?
Tennessee doesn't have any state income tax; it's a state that believes you should keep what you make, plus the property tax in Tennessee is substantially lower than in New Jersey or New York.

Why I'd Never Be Able To Leave The Garden State
I've been to Tennessee a few times in my life, and I'll admit, it's a beautiful state, but I don't htink I'd ever be able to leave New Jersey, this place just has a grip on me, and despite some of its price problems, I really don't think I could live anywhere where I'd need to get on a plane to go to the beach.
