$100 Million Dollars In Funding Coming To Jersey Shore Boardwalks ☀️
Something that is truly unique to New Jersey is our boardwalks. We invented boardwalks here in the Garden State. We were the first in America to have a boardwalk. According to Wikipedia, "The Atlantic City Boardwalk was the first boardwalk in the United States, opening on June 26, 1870. The Boardwalk starts at Absecon Inlet and runs along the beach for 4 miles (6 km) to the city limit. An additional 1.5 miles (2.4 km) of the Boardwalk extends into Ventnor City."
Other areas around the nation try to emulate our "Jersey" boardwalks, but it's never quite the same. Maybe it's the games we have on the boards, maybe it's the food like pizza, sausage & peppers, ice cream, funnel cake, maybe it's the rides, whatever it is there is nothing like the "Jersey" boardwalk.
We have boardwalks that are all unique in their very own way. Asbury Parks' boardwalk is different than the Ocean City boardwalk. The Seaside Heights and Park boardwalk is different from the Wildwoods boardwalk etc. Depending on what you like probably determines your favorite boardwalk. I love getting out on the boards and getting my steps in with the smell of the ocean and the various shops and yes coffee stands. It's very refreshing to hike the boards in New Jersey.

In a recent Patch article, it was discussed that money is coming to the boardwalks around New Jersey. "Eighteen shore towns will share $100 million in funding from the new Boardwalk Preservation Fund to repair, expand and preserve each of their iconic boardwalks."
According to Patch, "The towns with the largest pieces of the pie, each receiving $20 million, are Atlantic City and Asbury Park."
