Manchester, NJ resident in stable condition following E-Bike accident

A 51-year old man is in stable condition following a Saturday afternoon accident in the Pine Lake Park section of Manchester Township.
Police said that Scott Sheets was driving along Savannah Road on hiss E-Bike but then did not stop at a stop sign as he crossed near Tenth Avenue leading to a collision with a Nissan Rouge SUV around 2:47 pm.
Sheets was brought over to Community Medical Center in Toms River for injuries he suffered and was last listed in stable condition.
Police said that the accident remains under investigation.
As part of their statement, Manchester Police also reminded residents about the rules of the road for bikes of all kinds.
"Although low speed electric bicycles are permitted to be operated on roadways under current New Jersey Law, there are restrictions and additional requirements based on the class of the electric bicycle.
"The Manchester Police would like to remind those members of the public that they must always wear a helmet, keep to the right, and obey all other motor vehicle laws."
