New Jersey Adults, Would You Actually Wear This Halloween Costume?

Halloween is getting closer, and if you’re still trying to figure out what to wear, apparently the answer might be sitting in your kitchen.

According to Instacart’s latest costume trends, food-themed costumes are having a major moment among adults. And the number one food-themed adult costume is a banana! 🍌

Yes, New Jersey. A banana.

And honestly, I kind of love it.

The Banana Is Taking Over Halloween

The banana is currently leading the food-themed costume pack, followed by a hot dog and then the classic peanut butter and jelly combination. CHECK OUT the costume, click here.

I can already picture it: someone walking into a Halloween party dressed as a giant banana while everyone else is wearing the same old witch, vampire or superhero costume.

At least nobody will forget you!

🌭 Hot Dog or PB&J?

Coming in second is the hot dog costume, which feels particularly appropriate for a New Jersey Halloween. There is something wonderfully ridiculous about an adult voluntarily walking around dressed as a giant hot dog.

And then there’s peanut butter and jelly.

That one could actually be adorable for couples. One person is peanut butter, the other is jelly. Boom. Halloween costume solved!

Of course, here in New Jersey, I feel like we should have a pork roll costume somewhere in the mix. Pork roll, anyone?
