Brick Township Police said that a Point Pleasant man was arrested following a road rage incident that occurred along Route 88 and Post Road.
There were a couple of Brick Police Street Crimes Unit Detectives riding in an unmarked vehicle and they saw a vehicle stopped in the road obstructing traffic while the driver was involved in a verbal argument with another motorist on May 12.
Police said that 24-year old Jonathan Weydig of Point Pleasant Borough then started getting out of his vehicle in the road and they said they asked him to pull over into a safe area as they tried to pull him over.
Weydig got back into his vehicle and then fled the area, according to police, as he then eluding them until he was caught a few hours later and arrested in his hometown.
He was issued 12 motor vehicle summonses for his alleged road rage incident involvement along with being charged with eluding police, obstruction, and hindering apprehension.
Weydig also had six outstanding warrants and was later brought to Ocean County Jail.
