A Toms River man was charged in connection to a Tuesday stabbing incident in Seaside Park that has left a man in critical but stable condition.
Seaside Park Police found the 22-year old victim suffering from multiple stab wounds and laying on the road along North Ocean Avenue after getting a 911 call around 1:00 am.
Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said that the multi-agency investigation looking into the stabbing incident led to 28-year old Christopher Mawson being identified as the alleged suspect.
The stabbing victim was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune City for treatment and evaluation.
Mawson was arrested for allegedly stabbing the 22-year old and has since been charged with Attempted Murder, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
He was processed at Seaside Park Police Headquarters and then brought to the Ocean County Jail where he remains pending a detention hearing.
Prosecutor Billhimer said the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit was joined in this investigation by Seaside Park Police Officers and Detectives, Seaside Heights Police and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit.
