Weird? The Strangest Food in New Jersey Among the Oddest in America
When I think of food, I don't like adjectives like "strange" or "odd" lol it just doesn't sound tasty, does it? Well, 24/7 Tempo put together a list of the "strangest" foods in America and some are tempting while others are not so tempting. “Strange” is, of course, a subjective term. For instance, most of us don’t eat a lot of the more specialized organ meats - pig’s intestines (chitterlings), fish liver, duck tongues - but to people in whose cultures these are daily fare, they’re anything but weird."
For example, the strangest food in Alabama is something I would not eat. They love banana and mayonnaise sandwiches. In Alaska they eat a fish called "Stinkheads", again a big no, In Arkansas, it's pork brains and eggs, do I need to say? So you kinda see where this list of "strangest" foods in America is going. What about here in Jersey?
According to 24/7 Tempo, our "strangest" food involves bagels and Oreos! "Another entry in the too-much-of-a-good-thing sweepstakes, this time from the Bagel Nook in Freehold, these chocolate-and-vanilla-swirled bagels are topped with Oreos mixed with cookies and cream cheese. Have your lox on the side."
So as you can see it's not a bad one for us here in New Jersey, our "strangest" food is like a dessert bagel lol Have you ever tried the Oreo bagel at the Bagel Nook in Freehold? Give us your review if you have, and post your comments below. We always love getting your input.
