Will Mammograms Be Available at Super Walmarts in New Jersey?
I go to my Super Walmart all the time and never imagined I could do my shopping for milk and eggs and now get a mammogram.
It's true, mammograms launched in December in Delaware. It's a breast screening service called MammogramNow. Hopefully we'll be seeing it in the Super Walmarts in New Jersey or at least in some locations.
According to radnet.com, more and more locations across the country will have Mammograms available at our local Walmart.
Is MammogramsNow coming to a local Walmart in New Jersey?
Not yet, it started in Delaware and later this year in Arizona and California. Hopefully this will be in New Jersey Super Walmart's soon.
Mammograms are so important and access to potentially life-saving preventative exams can be hard for some people to get too. According to radnet.com, ninety percent of all Americans live within ten miles from a Walmart. Doctors say women should start Mammograms at the age of 40 and early detection is so important.
Appointments are not necessary at MammogramNow in local Super Walmarts. A doctor's referral is also not required, so there is no reason why you can't get a mammogram.
From CEO Howard Berger, MD and RadNet president:
The ability to offer leading-edge hardware, software and AI technologies in a non-traditional healthcare location, such as a highly-trafficked retail location like a Walmart Supercenter, could become a new paradigm for the future of consumer healthcare and preventative medicine.
All women will receive temosynthesis, a type of mammography that uses 3-D images to improve cancer detection. Also, they have the option to add artificial intelligence to their screenings which adds no extra time at the appointment but leverages the most cutting-edge detection technology, according to radnet.com.
