Jamie Apody, Former 6abc Sports Anchor, Lands New Gig in Philly, PA

She's back! After going missing from the WPVI airways on 6abc's Action News, former sports anchor Jamie Apody had landed a new gig in Philadelphia.

We've missed you, Jamie!

For months now, faithful Action News fans like me have been wondering where the heck Jamie Apody had gone. She was here one broadcast, gone the next.

Jamie's been on maternity leave from 6abc three times, I think, over her tenor at television station, so I thought maybe she was having another baby. But there were no updates on her socials and no one on Action News mentioned her absence at all.

Lead Sports Anchor Jamie Apody Reportedly Out at Philly's 6abc Action News

Although neither Jamie or 6abc had confirmed her exit from Action News, I had a sneaky suspicion she might have been let go and something in her contract prohibited her from saying so. I was not happy. It was inspiring thing to have a woman lead the sports news department for a local TV station.

Then about three weeks ago, Apody posted a tease on Instagram with the caption 'Some personal news.' The post contained a slide show of photos from her time covering Philly sports for WPVI.

In the comments section, 6abc meteorologist Cecily Tynan chimed in on Jamie's exit from Action News.

Today, Jamie revealed her new job and it's with 6abc rival FOX 29 Philadelphia. Jamie will host The Phantastic Sports Show. It will air tonight (Tuesday, May 21st) at 11:30 p.m.
