Another NJ Wawa Closing, Not Being Replaced With Super Store
Another Wawa store in the Garden State is just hours away from closing for good.
And as we have lamented before, this is one of those old-school Wawa stores that's in a strip mall. If you are a fan of the convenience store chain, you know that over the past few years, those locations have been slowly disappearing in favor of Super Wawas.
However, in this instance, a megastore will not be replacing this one.
Not the first to close
Sadly, this is the second old-school Wawa in the Garden State to close recently.
This past summer, Wawa in Collings Lakes, Atlantic County, closed after 53 years, which was also not replaced with a big, new store.
Next Wawa to close
While we were not able to find exactly when this particular store opened, now comes word that Wawa on Triangle Road in Hillsborough, Somerset County, will be gone for good as of Monday, October 2nd, according to patch.com.
The store, which is right along Route 206, is located in a very busy area, surrounded by numerous big box stores, but that wasn't enough to keep the store open.
Officials at Wawa did not comment to patch.com about the store closing, however, lots of people on Facebook have certainly commented.
It will surely leave a hole in Hillsborough.
The good news is for those in the Hillsborough area, you won't have to travel far to get your favorite cup of coffee, hoagie, or pizza (Wawa has pizza -- have you heard?!).
Other Wawa stores are in the Bound Brook area right off of Interstate 287 and Route 28. Another store is just a few miles down Route 202 before you get into Flemington.
