A Jackson teen, who is already facing charges for yelling Anti-Semitic remarks at two Jewish residents while driving along Louisiana Parkway on September 14, is now charged with simple assault.

Police charged the teen for what they said was an attempt by physical menace to put another person in fear of imminent serious bodily injury.

The teen and an unidentified adult passenger have already been charged with bias intimidation and harassment.

The matter will be forwarded to the Family Court.

Juvenile complaints were prepared charging a teenage male passenger of the vehicle with bias intimidation and harassment.

This matter will also be forwarded to the Family Court.

Police said an adult male passenger of the vehicle was charged with bias intimidation and harassment on a summons complaint.

The incident under investigation took place when the teenager was driving his car near a home on Louisiana Parkway and yelling Anti-Semitic remarks, along with his passengers, at two Jewish residents who were standing near a curb.

Officers learned that two Jewish residents were standing near the curb in front of the residence when a passing vehicle swerved at them, forcing them to jump onto the curb to safety.

As the vehicle passed, the occupants of the vehicle allegedly yelled obscenities and insults in reference to the residents' religion.

The vehicle then reportedly drove down the street and turned around and came back, swerving at the two a second time as the occupants again yelled obscenities and insults at the two.

A nearby resident who observed the incident then called police headquarters to report it.
