WALL — As President Trump returns to New Jersey to spend the weekend at his Bedminster golf club, three students at a Jersey Shore high school claim their references to Donald Trump were edited out of the school's yearbook.

Grant Berardo, a junior, told NJ.com that the T-shirt he wore, which read "Trump: Make America Great Again," was edited out of the book.

Freshman class president Montana Fago said her quote from the president was edited out while a "Trump" logo was removed from her brother Wyatt's shirt.

The allegations come the same week a Morristown High School student's anti-Trump satirical artwork was removed from a school art show.

Wall Township school superintendent Cheryl Dyer told New Jersey 101.5 in an email she is aware of the allegations and is investigating.

"The allegations are disturbing, and any inappropriate challenge to these principles will be rectified as swiftly and thoroughly as possible," Dyer wrote.

She said there is nothing in the school's dress code that would prohibit a student from expressing a political view or support for a political figure.

"Indeed, the administration applauds students for becoming involved in politics, making their voices known, and taking an active part in our democracy," Dyer wrote.

Dyer said there is a yearbook class whose teacher is the advisor of the yearbook club and an administrator reviews content before it is sent to the publisher.

"It is reasonable to assume that some edits to content are made before the pages are reviewed by administration," Dyer wrote.

The Monmouth County school has an enrollment of 1,207 students. Trump beat Hillary Clinton in the election by 30,000 votes in the county.

Trump, meanwhile, arrived at Newark Liberty International Airport on Friday afternoon and flew on board Marine One to his golf club in Bedminster, where he will spend the weekend. He will be the special guest at a fundraiser for Republican congressman Tom MacArthur on Sunday afternoon before returning to Washington.
