It is no secret that I am quite a food-obsessed person so once I moved down to the Jersey Shore, it was time to put my eating pants on.

However, local summer is going to be coming to an end very soon and let's face it, there are quite a few places that are only open during the summertime for good reason. What fun would a lobster roll and margarita on the beach be during the freezing winter months? (Unless it is fun and in that case I will meet you there)

Check out a list of restaurants that you have to visit one last time before they close up for the winter.

1. Junkyard Dogs

Where: 283 Mantoloking Rd, Brick, NJ 08723
Website: route66junkyarddogs.com

Grab your loafers because this hot dog joint takes you back in time for a fun day surrounded by everything and anything related to cars. Word on the street is that you should head there for their hot dogs with chili, onions, and house-made coleslaw or a burger with Taylor Ham! They are closing up right before Halloween so try and scurry on over while you can!

2. The Chicken or the Egg

Where: 207 N Bay Ave, Beach Haven, NJ 08008
Website: 492fowl.com

This local hot spot in Long Beach Island is usually open 24/7 during the summer and has some of that good old comfort food. People are lined up outside the door for their wings, fries with garlic and herb sauce, and sloppy joe's constantly!\ And of course there are breakfast options too! This joint is closing up on October 29th so your time to pay one final visit for the Summer is dwindling!

3. Red Lobster Pot

Where: 57 Inlet Drive, Point Pleasant Beach, NJ
Website: RedsLobsterPot.com

This seafood spot, specializing in lobster (duh!) , will be closing on September 24th so make sure to get your last seafood kick in this weekend! While overlooking the Manasquan River, enjoy a lobster roll, lobster mac and cheese, as well as other more land-lover friendly options including filet mignon or pasta primavera!

4. The Music Man Singing Shoppe

Where: 2305 Grand Central Ave, Lavallette, NJ 08735
Website: TheMusicMan.com

Who wouldn't want an ice cream sundae with a Broadway-styled show to watch at the same time? Unfortunately, their regularly scheduled programs have stopped but you are still able to get your daily dose of this sweet treat by booking a reservation for specific occasions available on their website.

5. Shore Fire Grille

Where: 18th Street, Surf City, NJ 08008
Website: ShoreFireGrille.com

After their third successful season in Surf City, this spot will be closing on October 9th for the winter. People love to stop in for their turkey burger with pineapple salsa and garlic aioli or crab cake sandwich with lime tartar sauce! Their sister restaurant in Manahawkin is opened year round so just keep that in mind in case you can't make it over to Surf City within the next few weeks.
