Justin Bieber catches a lot of heat from many. It's only fair that we give the Biebs props when he shows his generosity, especially when it benefits one of our own.

Julie Coker of Union Beach is a senior at Stockton University. She is the president of the school's chapter of the Active Minds Student Advisory Committee. Active Minds is a nonprofit organization supporting mental health awareness and education for young adults. It's comprised of 20 people from around the country, and Julie is one of them.

According to a press release from Stockton, Julie has battled depression and anxiety. Thanks to the awesome counselors at Red Bank Regional High School, Julie got the help she needed. After her family lost their home in Hurricane Sandy, it made Julie want to get involved in mental health awareness.

Julie was invited to MTV in New York on February 7. According to Coker, Active Minds told her to just be there and that it would be lifechanging. She had no idea Justin Bieber would be there live to present her a check for $100,000 to thank her for her work with Active Minds.
