It's stories like this one that make me so proud to live at the Jersey Shore.

Because Kevin Mota depends on a wheelchair to get around, he had never really enjoyed a real day at the beach. That's until the New York Red Bulls minor league soccer team found out.

'The Viking Army' is a collection of extremely passionate and generous Red Bulls superfans. Kevin is a member of the Viking Army and through fundraising, his friends and the Red Bulls were able to raise money for Kevin to buy a motorized wheelchair. It's a tight-knit group

Every summer these superfans have a beach day, and this year they chose Long Branch to host it.

With the help of Long Branch's best lifeguards, beach staff, and a bunch of amazing friends, Kevin made it onto the sand and into the surf. He even rode a wave!

Shout out to Long Branch lifeguards Brian Shea and David Kawut. Watch the magic.
