Manahawkin family injured in Vermont car accident
A Manahawkin family was hospitalized after being hit by a car driving through Vermont last weekend.
Vermont State Police say that 20-year old Jenna Latterreur of Essex (VT) was driving a 2013 BMW on Vermont Route 22-A in West Haven on Sunday morning July 14 around 9:56 am when she left her lane of travel and struck a Toyota sienna, partially head on, driven by 38-year old Greg Smith of Manahawkin.
Smith was extracted from the vehicle and suffered serious injuries.
The front passenger, 41-year old Holly Smith, was hospitalized for serious injuries.
Garron age-9, Reid age-6 and Abby age-11 were transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Jenna Latterreur was transported to Medical Center in New York for non-life threatening injuries.
At this time police don't believe that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.
Latterreur was issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Rutland Criminal Division on November 4, 2019 after being charged criminally for Gross Negligent Operation and Reckless Endangerment.
The Vermont State Police were notified the Smith family is reported to be stable at the hospital.
