Manchester resident charged with supplying lethal dose of heroin-fentanyl

A Manchester resident has been charged with supplying a lethal concoction of heroin and fentanyl to another township resident back in August.

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer and Manchester Police Chief Robert Dolan announced in a joint statement that Dandre Tubbs, 33, of Manchester, has been charged with Strict Liability Drug Induced Death in the death of a 35 year-old male in Manchester on August 16.

It was on that day Manchester Police officers responded to a residence on a report of a 35-year old man being found unresponsive.

When police arrived, they learned the man was already dead due to an apparent drug overdose.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit and Manchester Police Detectives worked together on an investigation that led them to the facts of Tubbs supplying heroin and fentanyl to the undisclosed victim the day before that man fatally overdosed.

A couple days later, Tubbs was arrested and charged with three counts of Distribution of Heroin, two counts of Possession of Heroin, Possession of Alprazolam, Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

The drug overdose was confirmed by the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office after they received the reports and findings of a toxicology analysis which showed the presence of heroin and fentanyl in the man's system at the time of his death.

The Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office took a look at the toxicology report as well and they determined that the combination of heroin and fentanyl that was in the man's system was indeed what caused his death.

Tubbs was then charged with Strict Liability Drug Induced Death and has remained in the Ocean County Jail since his arrest on August 19.
