A Manchester man is in critical and unstable condition as a result of a Tuesday morning crash on Route 37 near Buckingham Drive.

Manchester Police said that a 17-year old from Lakehurst was driving down Route 37 around 7:45 am in a blue 2008 Saturn Vue when he collided with a 2007 Acura RDX driven by 51-year old Kunie Brown who was turning left at the intersection from Bone Hill Road onto Route 37.

Brown became entrapped in the vehicle due to the damage caused by the impact and he needed to be extricated from the vehicle.

When he was safely removed from the vehicle, Brown was medevacked to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment and evaluation of significant injuries sustained in the crash.

Brown is currently listed in critical, unstable condition.

The 17-year-old from Lakehurst was brought to Community Medical Center for treatment and evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries.

His passenger, 21-year-old, Brandon Carman of Lakehurst, was transported by ambulance to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment and evaluation of his injuries.

Carman is currently listed in stable condition.

Police said that everyone was wearing their seatbelts and that both vehicles had multiple airbag deployments.

The crash investigation is ongoing, but at this point police said that disregarding a traffic signal appears to be the primary contributing factor.
