It's hard to believe that it has been 13 years since the September 11th terrorist attacks.

Several local events are planned to commemorate the day's events and remember those who were lost.

9/11 Memorial at Mount Mitchill Scenic Overlook

8 a.m.: Atlantic Highlands - Remembrance Ceremony at Monmouth County 9/11 Memorial at Mount Mitchill Scenic Overlook

8:30 a.m.: Toms River - Ocean County's Annual Day of Remembrance at the Ocean County September 11th Memorial (119 Hooper Ave.)

8:45 a.m.: Middletown - Wreath-laying at Middletown WTC Memorial Gardens (36 Church St.)

9:30 a.m.: Toms River - Remembrance Ceremony at Fireman's Statue, corner of Washington and Robbins Streets.

6 - 8 p.m.: Brick - Candlelight Vigil at Angel in Anguish Monument at Windward Beach, Princeton Avenue

7 p.m.: Howell – Memorial Vigil at 9/11 Memorial located at the Preventorium complex

7 p.m.: Manalapan - Candlelight ceremony at the 9/11 Memorial on the Manalapan Township Arboretum in front of Town Hall
