It's always about money in the Garden State because expensive, bloated bills are coming at you every day in this state.
To make it through, New Jersey residents must try their best to create a budget that they can stick to and live with.

But, just how good are Garden State residents at putting together a budget and keeping it?

The folks who know a lot about money, Wallet Hub, wanted the answer to that question in New Jersey and every state in the nation.
They researched using criteria like spending and debt rank, credit rank, and savings rank, and when they crunched all the numbers, they were able to rank each state on its ability to be a good budgeter.
New Jersey Residents Handling Money Issues
When the results came in, New Jersey found itself ranked as the 12th best state in the nation, a number I think we can all live with.

While our credit ranking wasn't the best (29th), we do well in the savings category (#14) and the spending and debt category (8th best in the nation).
The best budgeters in America live in Hawaii, while the worst in the country call Mississippi home.
It seems that congratulations are in order, as New Jersey residents have placed our state in the top 15 for budgeting in America.
