The study, published by WalletHub, places the Garden State in the #4 spot among America's happiest states, only out-happied by Nebraska, Maryland, and Hawaii.

The one category that prevented us from placing even higher on the list was "Community and Environment", which we only ranked # 36 in the nation.
In the category of "Work Environment", the Garden State is right in the middle of the pack, receiving a ranking of # 23.

New Jersey also has the lowest share of adult depression in America, as well as the lowest suicide rate.

The Garden State also enjoys one of the lowest divorce rates in America, second only to Utah.
