New Jersey Is Heating Up More Than Any Other State In America

We are all concerned about our environment, and we are thinking about our children's and grandchildren's future. We want them to have a safe, healthy place to live and raise their families.

If you are keeping your eyes on environmental things in the Garden State, a recent report from Stacker places New Jersey in a very precarious place on a list you don't want to be on the top of.

It turns out that according to their research, New Jersey is not only among the states that are warming the fastest, we actually are the state that is warming faster than any other state in the nation.

This is what they found in their research. They compiled data starting in 1970 from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and discovered that New Jersey's average temperature has risen 4.5 degrees since 1970.

That increase is the highest of any state in the nation for that time span. Atlantic City lands at #9 on the list of the fastest-warming cities in the nation with a jump of 4.9 degrees in that same time span.

Rhode Island and Delaware were in the top three states, meaning the northeast seems to be the warming capital of the country.

The experts say that our proximity to the warming Atlantic Ocean is one of the main culprits for the temperature rise.
