What’s Your Favorite Contender For New Jersey’s State Food?
As far as I can tell, New Jersey does not have a state food, and we need to change that.
What Is New Jersey's Official Food?
Let's start by showing some love to the blueberry fans. Yes, the blueberry is the official fruit of New Jersey, but it's not the official food.
We have a state tree, a state insect, a state bird, and even a state dinosaur, so why don't we have a state food?
We have some ideas on this topic, and we're sure you do, too. We came up with five foods that should be considered the state food. They aren't the only ones, but it's a good start.
5 Foods That Should Be Considered To Be Our State Food
Here they are. Tell us what you think:
Salt Water Taffy - It's not my favorite choice, but it does remind me of our beaches and boardwalks, and it was invented here.
Pizza - Do I need to explain this one? We have the best in the country, and don't try to tell me otherwise.
Pork Roll, Egg & Cheese - The Taylor Ham/Pork Roll debate has made it impossible to choose this one. We already have enough to fight about.
Chicken Parm - This is my top choice. It's the go-to meal at so many great New Jersey Italian restaurants
Bagels - Just like pizza, no one makes it better than we do. It would be a solid choice for New Jersey food.
As far as we know, there is no official plan to name a state food, but at least we can start the conversation.
