New Jersey is parked right between two major cities in New York and Philadelphia, but fashion isn't just around us, it's apparently right here in the Garden State as well.

Maybe after a few weekends at one of New Jersey's beaches or boardwalks, you may not think New Jersey is completely in touch with the cutting edge of the fashion world, but according to a major website, that is completely incorrect.

This is not just any fashion website we're talking about here. This is Cosmopolitan, and we all know they have more than a bit of fashion knowledge to share.

That's why New Jersey's fashion ranking may seem so surprising to you. There is no shock when the states that are home to the big cities are considered high fashion areas. But little old New Jersey?

It turns out the experts at Cosmo put New Jersey's fashion sense right up there with the best of them. According to them, New Jersey ranks as the 6th most fashionable state in the nation.

New York, California, and Florida are one, two, and three. Then there's Texas at #4, Massachusetts came in 5th, and then, there we are, the Garden State sitting pretty at #6.

The experts at Cosmo say that there are a ton of great high fashion places to shop in New Jersey, primarily because they want to be near the city, but don't want the overhead the big city brings.

So, our impressive ranking has a lot to do with our proximity to New York, and that does make sense. It also should make us all feel better about the sandals and socks and all the other fashion faux pas we'll inevitably see the rest of the summer.
