Amusement parks in the Garden State are anxiously awaiting word on when they can finally open their doors and start the 2020 summer season.

Some of the biggest amusements parks in the Garden State are getting ready to hire for their upcoming season, according to NJ.com.

Now comes word from Gov. Murphy that outdoor amusement parks and boardwalk rides can officially open for the summer on Thursday, July 2nd, according to a report from the Press of Atlantic City.

Face masks and social distancing will be required and parks will only be at 50% capacity to start.

Six Flags Great Adventure once again started the hiring process and are accepting new applications for the 2020 season. Positions include: lifeguards, games, retail, rides, food, security and park services. The Wild Safari Drive-Thru is now open. Reservations are required before you visit.

Morey's Piers in Wildwwod also announced the anticipated hiring of 500 immediate workers. Positions include: Ride and water park operators, games, food and beverage, retail and park services.

Gillian's Wonderland Pier in Ocean City is also hiring and accepting applications for the 2020 season. You can apply for emergency medical technicians, park maintenance, servers, mascots, party coordinators and pizza maker.

Steel Pier in Atlantic City is also in the hiring mode for the 2020 season. Positions include: Food and beverage, game attendant, groundskeeper, payroll processing clerk    scheduling clerk and ride technicians.

Splashzone Waterpark in Wildwood. Positions include lifeguard and maintenance  assistant.
