I, like thousands of other New Jersey residents, love boating season. Let's start a series on some of the best places to anchor your boat for a fun summer day at the Jersey Shore.

Spotlight - Popular Places For Boaters At The Jersey Shore

I spend most of my summer on my boat, and I love every minute of it. I'm just as happy at the dock smoking a cigar as I am cruising along the Barnegat Bay on a hot, summer day.

That's why I knew it would be fun to focus on some of the great bating places at the Jersey Shore, sort of as a Boater's Bucket List for this summer.

I thought since we already mentioned it, we'd focus on one popular spot in the Barnegat Bay. Have you ever taken your boat to Tices Shoal?

Tices Shoal At The Jersey Shore

Tices Shoal is no secret to New Jersey boaters. It is one of the most popular spots to drop anchor and enjoy a Jersey Shore summer day.

It's right near Island Beach State Park, and it is the summer go-to spot for thousands of New Jersey residents and tourists. There is also access to the Atlantic through the Barnegat Inlet.

I can tell you from personal experience that there is no better summer day than one when you can anchor your boat among fellow boaters and enjoy the Bay, the sun, and the boating life.

Summer Boating Day Supplies

In my opinion, here's all you need for a great day at Tices Shoal. A good boat, good people, something to eat and drink, and a football or a frisbee.  Better known as the simple things in life.

Keep this in mind. If you are looking for quieter times, avoid Tices Shoal on the weekends and holidays, but if you're looking for the party, that's when to go.

I'll focus on more great boating destinations at the Jersey Shore this summer to help fill out the Boaters Bucket List. Enjoy!
