NJ Is Getting a New Drive Thru Donut and Ice Cream Shop and People Are Excited
There is something special about a place that promises warm donuts, cold ice cream without even getting out of your car. Talk about dangerous. This kind of convenience could turn into a routine fast. Morning treat. After school reward. Late-night sweet fix. And a new one is getting ready to open its doors in New Jesey.
This shop is leaning hard into the idea of simple pleasures done really well. Think made-from-scratch treats, classic flavors, and that nostalgic vibe where everything feels familiar, even on your first visit. It is not trying to reinvent dessert. It is just trying to do it right.

A Donut and Ice Cream Stop Worth the Detour
The focus here is cake-style donuts made fresh every single day. The batter is mixed in house, not shipped in or pulled from a freezer. Once they are cooked, the donuts get finished by hand with glazes, dips, and drizzles. That means what you grab at 7 a.m. is just as fresh as what someone grabs in the afternoon.
The ice cream side of the menu is all about soft serve with rotating signature flavors. Instead of sticking to the same lineup forever, flavors will change, which gives people a reason to keep coming back. Everything is made with premium ingredients, so it is meant to taste rich and smooth rather than overly sweet.

Yes, There Is a Drive-Thru
One of the biggest perks is the drive-thru. The shop will have indoor seating if you want to hang out, but it will also offer a drive-through window. That makes it easy for commuters, parents doing school drop-offs, or anyone who just wants dessert without leaving the car.
The drink menu keeps things simple and local. Coffee is brewed using beans roasted nearby, and there are also iced tea and lemonade options made with real fruit.
All of this is coming together at a new spot, Happy Place Homemade, opening on January 23 at 690 Stokes Road in Medford. They plan to be open from early morning until night six days a week, closing only on Tuesdays.
