A study was reported at Zippia that ranked the states in America for their level of laziness, and several factors were used to determine the grades.
Here are some factors used to determine each state's level of laziness. They included lowest average hours worked, shortest commute times, and unemployment rate, among others.

According to this report, New Jersey is the third least lazy state in America. Only Virginia and Maryland are less lazy than we are.
The laziest states in America (listed from #3 to #1) are Michigan, Kentucky, and New Mexico.

New Jersey doesn't normally do well in these national studies, but our average hours worked helped set our ranking, and so did our very frustrating commute.
