New Jersey Pet Peeve Of The Week – Shopping Carts
I was in the Walmart parking lot this weekend, and it gave me inspiration for this week's pet peeve - the shopping cart dilemma.
NJ Pet Peeve - The Shopping Cart
There are people in parking lots all over New Jersey trying to gather up all the carts, and they can't keep up with our ridiculous level of laziness.
Before I get into my full rant, I need to let you know that I know there are exceptions to the "put your cart back in the cart area when you're done" rule.
If you are physically unable to do it, I'm not talking about you. I'm also not talking about parents who have to keep their eyes on the kids at all times. This rant does not apply to anyone with a legitimate reason to not put the cart in the cart area.
Why Can't NJ Residents Put Shopping Carts Back?
Now, it's time to talk about the rest of you. Have we really gotten to the point where we are so lazy or selfish that we can't take the 10 seconds to return the cart to where it belongs?
Can you please tell me the justification you have for leaving that cart in the middle of the street or parking spot? Here's a hint. There isn't one.
And here's a word for the "two wheels on the curb" gang. Sorry, that doesn't cut it, not to mention that you send more energy popping the wheelie to get it up there than you would just bringing it back where it belongs.
Message To NJ Residents Who Leave The Shopping Cart Wherever They Want
Here's my message to those able-bodied folks guilty of leaving your carts all over the parking lot - stop.

If you think about how long it takes to do, and you think about your neighbor who wants to pull into that spot you are blocking with sheer laziness, maybe you'll do better.
