Popular Snack Recall: NJ Families Urged to Check Pantries for Dangerous Mix-Up
If you’re the kind of person who likes to toss a few snack packs into your bag before heading out the door, this heads up is for you. A big recall is making the rounds right now, and it’s all because of a little mix-up that could cause a lot of trouble.

What’s the Problem?
A popular snack you’ll find in pretty much every grocery store had something sneak into the package that shouldn’t be there. The manufacturer discovered that some packages were mislabeled, which means the contents do not match what is listed on the label. That might not sound like the end of the world, but if you or someone in your family has food allergies, this can be a serious issue.
The wrong label means folks could unknowingly bite into something that could send them rushing for allergy meds, or even the ER. Mondelēz Global is stressing that people with certain allergies should definitely not eat these. They’re also asking stores to pull the affected packages off the shelves immediately.
How to Know If Yours Are Included
The snacks in question were sold across New Jersey and the U.S, and they have specific “best when used by” dates stamped on them, so double-check your pantry. If you’ve got one of the recalled boxes, Mondelēz Global says you can bring it back to where you bought it for a full refund. No receipt needed, which is at least a little win.

Which Snack Was Just Recalled?
It’s those super popular Ritz cheese cracker sandwiches. Some boxes actually contained peanut butter instead of cheese, and the label didn’t warn about peanuts. That’s a huge deal for anyone with a peanut allergy. If you’ve got these at home, take a peek at the box and keep your family safe.
Here are the specific products that are affected, including the dates, UPC and plant codes from the FDA.
