So much can change, all the info isn't in yet, and there are too many factors to lock into a summer forecast this early.

But the Weather Channel has released some projections for our area for this summer and the info so far lens toward a hotter and rainier summer than we usually have in the northeast.

When it comes to our summer temperatures, the suggestions are pointing toward temperatures that will be consistently a little higher than we're used to seeing.

We can deal with heat in New Jersey, but we don't want a rainy summer. It affects travel plans, days off, vacations, and the all-important tourist money our local businesses need to survive and thrive.

Unfortunately, the data so far suggests a rainy summer for our area. The whole eastern third of the nation might see higher rain totals than average.

The good news is that summer is still a decent distance away, and there is plenty of time for the data to swing in our direction.
