The forecast for the middle of the week in New Jersey calls for near-record temperatures, but will we get into the record books this week?
Our Chief Meteorologist Dan Zarrow says the temperatures will be dancing around 80 degrees for a daytime high tomorrow (October 23).
The Hottest Temperature On Record In New Jersey
We deeply studied the record books to see if we would be breaking a New Jersey weather record.

We relied on the data-packed website of the Office of the New Jersey State Climatologist to get record highs for the date in three different regions of the state.
According to the website, these are the record highs for October 23rd in North, Central, and South Jersey.
The Record Highs In Different Regions Of New Jersey
At the Newark Airport weather station, it registered a high of on October 23, 1947 of 87 degrees.

In Freehold, representing Central Jersey for this article, the temperature peaked at 87 degrees in 1979.
There is a weather station at Atlantic City International Airport, and the highest October 23rd temperature it registered was 79 degrees in 2007.
Expected High Temperatures In Different New Jersey Regions
Generally, the high temperature for this October 23rd are the following:
North Jersey: High 80
Central Jersey: High 75 degrees
South Jersey High 73 degrees
It looks like we're going to be in the ballpark of the record in most of the state, but it's going to be close.
