They are not the only ones, but they are a good starting point if you want to celebrate words in the Garden State.

Here are the ones we came up with. We're sure you can think of some good ones yourself.

Here Are Some Great "New Jersey Words"

Jughandle - Maybe this shouldn't have been invented, and maybe they should be eliminated, but we have a weird way of making left turns in New Jersey.

Pie - If you're getting one at Delicious Orchards, you're using the word the way the rest of the country is, but if you're referring to a pizza, you're doing it the New Jersey way.

Mootz - If you say Mahtz-uh-rell-uh you're not doing it the Jersey way. Just call it mootz, we'll know what you mean.

The City - If you're going to New York for the evening, all you have to do is say you're heading to the city.

Benny - If you pack the car and head to the Jersey Shore for a summer weekend and you're not from the Jersey Shore, you're probably one of them. And I say that with love. I am too, but I've been living at the Shore for decades.
