NJ Warehousemen & Movers Association names first woman Executive Director
When you move, there are groups of people you can hire to help in the process so it's not so physically straining on you and the family.
The New Jersey Warehouseman and Movers Association is one such agency that can help.
They started up in 1969 to offer support and training for movers and promote consumer protection, per their mission statement.
On Thursday morning, the NJWMA is announcing that Tracy Brito Denora of Toms River will become their new Executive Director effective January 1, 2021, and in doing so she will be the first woman to lead the Association as its Executive Director.
Tracy said she has worked in the moving industry since growing up in her family’s moving company, then learned the business from the bottom up to sales and into the administration offices.
She left the moving industry following college to explore other career opportunities but decided to return to the business in 2003.
The current Executive Director, Bob Russo, recommended Tracy to the Strategic Planning committee in 2019 to be his successor when he was ready to leave because he felt she was professionally qualified.
Bob himself is not retiring but lowering his workload "as he wishes to spend more time with his growing family and still be able to continue teaching specialized classes on packing, loading and best practices."
His new position at NJWMA will be Legislative & Training Director.
The plan moving forward is to help you know which movers are legitimate and which ones are scammers.
"My main goal is to have consumers aware of our association…all consumers should check with us before hiring a mover because there are so many illegals out there and scam everyone," Tracy Brito Denora tells 92.7 WOBM News.
"NJWMA has grown to be a well-respected industry trade association over the years because we focus on bringing value to our members by offering training and other valuable programs," Tracy Brito Denora said. "Movers learn more about their industry when they participate in the events and training that are offered."
If you want to be a member of NJWMA, movers must be licensed and agree to the NJWMA Code of Ethics. You can learn more at www.njmovers.com or call (732) 341-3934.
