Now....as if we haven't been through enough....there is another safety hazard that has been discovered by the Western Lakes Fire District Fire Department.

Officials are asking residents to NOT leave hand sanitizer bottles in their car as the weather gets warmer because it is a fire hazard.

If you head to WJLA.com, you will see the photo of the aftermath of a hand sanitizer bottle exploding because it was left in a hot car.

Hand sanitizer is alcohol-based which does make it flammable and, "when the hand sanitizer is exposed to the sun, it causes magnification of light through the bottle which can lead to disaster when it is exposed to the sun or an open flame in the vehicle."

At this point, there is no reason to risk something like this happening to you.

It is better to be safe than sorry so if you have hand sanitizer in your vehicle, stop what you are doing and go and get it.

Stay safe. Stay healthy.
