Park In SJ Being Named After Fatally Shot 10-Yr-Old Boy At HS
Our hearts are still broken after the loss of 10-year-old Micah "Dew" Tennant due to a shooting that occurred at a high school football game.
But, thanks to Atlantic City mayor Marty Small Sr., his name will never be forgotten.
There is a city park in Atlantic City that is going to be given a complete makeover and then named after Micah.
The park is located on the 800 block of Maryland Avenue and is located in the neighborhood that Micah lived in.
“We’re going to make that playground a place Dew could be proud of,” Small said. “We’re going to make it a true community place.”
This tragedy broke hearts all across the Garden State. But I will give a round of applause to Marty Small Sr. who is paying tribute where it is deserved.
Micah was just 10-years-old when he passed from the bullet wounds and all from simply attending a local football game.
He was being a kid and this field can stand as a constant reminder that the violence that continues to occur within our country has got to stop.
It will honor Micah who did not need to be lost. And it will act as inspiration for those of us looking to make a change moving forward.
We will keep you updated as this park's makeover occurs.
